I’m a Mexican American filmmaker, photographer and multimedia artist, creating visuals about provoking realities, exploring themes of personal morals, ethics, vices and tragedies and self improvement. With contrasting aesthetics between clean and messy, subtle and loud, symmetric and chaotic, never an inbetween. Growing up in Mexico City to a Mexican father and an American mother, I’ve had the chance to experience contrasting realities and interact with a very diverse group of people and ideas that have influenced not only my visual style but also the themes I engage with. I want to create art that helps me deal with my own personal struggles and hope that the same art does the same for my audience.

I focus on narrative films with striking visuals composed of cinematic lighting composed of contrast in both lights and shadows and color and purposeful camera work that tries to emulate my characters’ perspective and reflect their emotional state through the camera’s movement and steadiness, playing with environments and perspectives and how the light interacts with it. Often working in the science fiction and fantasy genre, utilizing digital visual effects developed with a diverse repertoire of VFX tools and software to create unique and original visual elements that can be blended into our real world and enhance it. I often try to look for new perspectives, mediums and innovative techniques to tell stories and shoot films, wanting to learn new techniques, tools or pipelines that would lead to original and innovative pieces, driven by ambition and determined to find a way to achieve my goal, resulting in greater development of my skill set.

I want to engage my audience by creating art that adapts to our modern world and how our lives are intertwined with technology, tackling relevant themes to modern audiences, using contemporary visual language and engaging with different modern mediums and formats like social media and video streaming. I try to explore different formats and combine my works to create collections across multiple mediums to present as one all encompassing art project, using film, photography and music mainly. I want my audience to connect to my work with something in their personal lives or socio-cultural context and hope it helps and inspires them to chase their dream, heal their wounds, and do what they believe is right.
